Matt F: honestly ... how long do you think it will be before machines take over ?
Matt M: honostly, never
Matt M: because by the time we are smart enough to develop ai that has the ability to think for itself and want to take over, we will be smart enough to develop something to stop it.
Matt F: well take this under consideration
Matt F: machines theoretically have infinite computing power
Matt F: we as humans are limited to what our brain can handle
Matt M: huh? define infinite computing power?
Matt M: machines are still limited to what their processors can handle.
Matt F: true
Matt F: but they can upgrade
Matt F: we can't upgrade
Matt M: we can become smarter?
Matt F: if a machine becomes self aware and learns the ability to upgrade its self then we're screwed
Matt F: haven't you seen Terminator ?
Matt M: Haven't you seen 2001 a space odessey?

Matt M: arg you have to watch that movie
Matt M: Hal thinks he can complete the mission better by himself, so he tries to kill the crew, but Dave outsmarts him.
Matt F: thats fiction
Matt M: oh right I forgot. I guess you are right then, it will turn out just like in terminator
Matt F: the only advantage that i can see we have right now is Creativity
Matt F: we can think outside the box....
Matt F: oh and we have Free Will
Matt M: and you think computers will ever have the ability to think creatively?
