Happy Holidays! Posted by Matt

Kari, Steve, Swiss, and I took a trip to Ozark last weekend. We visited my parents, got to spend the day with Alex and his wife, and even had time to go to Silver Dollar City. SDC or “steal your dollar city” was a total blast. Its decorated up like a Norman Rockwell Christmas, complete with carolers, a huge parade through the city, and hot chocolate and wassail stands on every corner. I have some pictures up in my Christmas 2007 section. I will be updating this section soon with more pictures from our two Christmases (Creve Coeur and Eminence.)

I’ve also updated the Guitar Heroes gallery to include some pictures of Zombie Nation 2000. ZN2K is the name of our fictional rock band in the game of the same name.

The new Dark Knight trailer is online and is haunting my dreams nightly! This features our first good luck at Heath Ledger’s portrayal as The Joker. From what I can tell in the short two minute video, I think he’s going to pull it off! Batman Returns was such a departure from the other Batman movies, I can’t wait to see if the sequel can keep things going in the right direction. Batman is such an interesting character, he’s a brooding, solitary individual who sometimes resorts to violence to save a few lives.

More evidence that Global Warming is just a vehicle to line Al Gore’s pockets. According to this report the average temperature for 2007 is the same as last year, and every year since 2001.

My uncle sent me this hilarious video about some bad times at the old office.

None Shall Pass Posted by Matt

Sweet little video from Aesop Rock:

I’ll admit it I’m a major Star Wars nerd, and to make matters worse I had an enormous collection of Star Wars action figures (NOT DOLLS) growing up. Thats why I think this site is one of the funniest things I’ve seen. Here are a few Star Wars toys that are suspiciously missing. If that doesn’t do it for you then maybe would prefer the pregnant Padme. I’d like to also put in a request for Ponda Baba with detachable arm. (Edit: So apparently there is already a Ponda Baba figure!)

From the Wookieepedia, even more info about our favorite one armed villian from Mos Eisley.

Mark Ecko Designed Bobba Fett track jacket? I’ll take one please!

Working in an office and having to roll my eyes constantly at those lame “motivator” posters, I love seeing the fake ones on the internet. Here is one of my favorites that gives a shout out to one of the great Star Trek inside jokes.

The full roster for the upcoming relaunch of American Gladiators has been revealed on their website. Some pretty scary looking dudes, and thats just the female gladiators. I can’t wait for this show. I was a huge fan growing up. Me and my little brother would dine on Tatinos pizzas while we watched Turbo and Nitro beat up on these “average joes,” was tons of mindless fun. At one point we even setup our own eliminator course, and had our friend Walter run through while we pelted him with sporting goods. The contest usually ended with Walt taking one where it counts.

If the Chinese are good at one thing (besides wall building) its piracy! Recently, images and videos have surfaced of the strangely familiar, Chintendo Vii. When you don’t have any silly patent laws to abide by, why not cash in by making a cheap knockoff of a video game system that has sold 13 million units. With games like Fry Egg, Bird Knight, and Catch Fish, whats stopping this cheaper alternative from becoming as popular as its predecessor, and how long before we see Wal-Mart selling these for $24.95? Check out an actual TV commercial for the Vii. Yes its real!

Finally someone has found a quick way to beat Halo 3. The folks at Will It Blend? have run some tests on the game, and you may be surprised with the results. Master Chief blends like butter!

A video of Imogen Heap’s Hide & Seak filmed live at my favorite radio station Indie 103.1 The inspiration for SNL’s hilarious Dear Sister. Also from my YouTube favorite’s collection is a Italian remake of Like a Rolling Stone entitled Come Una Pietra Scalciata.

When I heard they were doing a Speed Racer movie I really couldn’t care less, I just rolled my eyes thinking it was just another lame remake of a stale franchise. Then I heard the Wachowski Brothers were involved and it piqued my interest slightly. Now that I’ve seen the trailer, I’m fully aboard the bandwagon. The trailer is one of the most visually stunning things I’ve seen since the Matrix. Watch the short preview and tell me if you don’t agree.

Nightwish is coming to St. Louis! I was considering traveling to Chicago in October to see them, so needless to say since they’re going to be at Pop’s, my tickets are on the way.

One of my favorite songs to play in Rock Band is When You were Young by the Killers. Coincidently they have a new video out where they perform with legendary Lou Reed. This team-up results in a very brooding and melodic compilation. I just keep hoping for that Arcade Fire download pack, but I’d settle for Linkin Park if I could get it!

The #1 fighter in the world is making his first appearance since March on New Year’s Eve. Unfortunately for his Americans fans, it will be in Japan. Thankfully Mark Cuban and his HD Net has stepped up to the plate and will be airing the fight! Now I just need to get an HD TV and HD Net.
