WEC has blown up on the VS channel. World Extreme Cagefighting is an up-and-coming fight orginization that had such a buzz around it that the UFC swallowed it up. The UFC repackaged it and poured in a ton of money and has unleashed it on the world. WEC features mainly lighter fighters and divisions overlooked by other orginizations. The 145lb division features champion Urijah Faber who at 19-1 is not only dominating his division, but makes a strong case for best pound for pound fighter in the world. This kid is a monster. Youtube him.
Spearking of WEC, I’ve been watching a ton of TV lately. Here’s a few things I’ve got my Tivo recording: The Sopranos (mob-drama, duh), Deadliest Catch (crazy Alaskan crab fishers), Entourage (Sex in the City for guys), The Ultimate Fighter (UFC’s reality show building the next 155lb fighter), Stargate SG-1/Atlantis (two of the best sci-fi shows on TV, based on the Kurt Russell movie), Big Brother UK (British reality show, thanks internet). Wow thats a ton of stuff!
I’m not a huge fan of racing games, but DiRT just looks unbelievable. The demo allows you to play through one course as many times as you like, and even though it plays very well, the graphics are the real star of this game. I don’t have a HD TV and this still looks better than any video game I’ve ever seen. Speaking of the Xbox 360, I still really suck at Halo 3.
Wow where did the month of May go? The last two weekends have been a whirlwind with James and Angie’s wedding last weekend and my best friends from high school were in the weekend before. I’ve added a bunch of new pictures to Family and Friends 2 and Guitar Heroes. I’m hoping to reorganize the fam and friends section into seperate years, when I find time.
James and Angie’s wedding was at Alley Springs which made for a beautiful backdrop. Anytime I can find an excuse to go to Eminence and see my family I’m all for it, the wedding and reception was just a major bonus.
I saw Shrek 3 awhile ago with Joe, Hilary, and KG. The movie was entertaining, and since we saw it for $4, definitley worth the price of admission. If you really enjoyed the first two than you will enjoy this one as well, but don’t expect anything new or ground-breaking. Same old jokes, just a different storyline.
