Aaron and I saw Hot Fuzz over the weekend. Its the follow-up to the zombie comedy Shaun of the Dead. Much like their parody of the zombie genre in Shaun, this film takes aim at action, Police dramas and hits the target with tons of great inside jokes throughout. The tongue-and-cheek nature of the flim and the references to classics like Point Break and Bad Boyz 2 make for a gut busting good time. If you liked their first film or if you are looking for something different, check this movie out.
I cannot wait to see 28 Weeks Later. Judging from the trailers, this one looks to pickup right where the original (28 Days Later) left off, and should be just as intense. I wasn’t a huge fan of the zombie genre until seeing this on DVD and it was only after some convincing from friends did I agree to see it. I instantly fell in love with the sheer intensity generated by film. The apocalyptic fallout from a biolgocial experiment gone wrong sets up for an interesting scenario as the few survivors band together to try and make it through the day. Their struggle makes for a psychologically stimulating thrilride, and really makes you think what you would do in that stiutation. Go see this movie when it hits theatre, its a no-brainer!
A funny parody of 300 featuring the charactes from Super Mario.
I started reading DC Comic’s Infinite Crisis this week. The catalysmic events set into motion last year, reset most of the main storylines in the DC Universe. I wasn’t a big fan of Comics until I started playing VS and I still refuse to buy actual comics, The trade paperbacks which collect several issues together are great reads, and make for easier collection of key story lines.
